Granelli-lab was funded by Prof. Fabrizio Granelli at the University of Trento in 2002.

We are interested in research areas spanning communication networks (especially wireless and cellular networks), cognitive communications, software-defined architecture, UAVs and distributed applications.

Our research involves the design and evaluation of network architectures and network services, and in general we explore innovative research areas related to computer networks and systems built around such networks.

Our current interests include (but are not limited to):
  1. Mobile and Cellular Communications
  2. 5G and Beyond, 6G
  3. Software Defined Networking
  4. Network Functions Virtualization
  5. Network Softwarization & Virtualization
  6. Aerial Networks (UAVs, blimps, cubesats)
  7. Cognitive and Self-Organizing Networks
  8. AI and ML for Communications and Networking
  9. Digital Twins
