SDN

Software Defined Networks

Software Defined Networks (SDN) is currently being developed to improve utilization and flexibility of the network investments. This is achieved by decoupling network logic and policies from the hardware. SDN will open up disruptive business opportunities which will attract the attention of operators, large equipment manufacturers and SMEs world-wide. The related research area focuses on how to exploit the advantages of network softwarization (Network as a Service - NaaS) and how to extend the SDN paradigm to the wireless scenario.
